Giggedy!
November is just crazy for me! I have ten stand-up gigs this month starting tomorrow. Can you come out and play? Tomorrow is Glam Cabaret – Topher McFarlane’s fabulous variety show in Kensington Market. I love this room! So fun. And I love me some variety acts. And it’s for a good cause – part of the proceeds for the evening will go to the Canadian Cancer Society. What’s not to like? Wednesday I’m back at Absolute Comedy which I love too. Not just because...

When I went back to England a few weeks ago I discovered a fabulous new comedy series – Mock the Week. A topical, improvised news show with stand-up comedians and impressionists, Mock the Week is one of the things that makes me wish I still had access to British television. Some of you may know that I do a joke about GPS units (or Sat Navs) in cars (click here to see it – it’s in the Absolute Comedy set and comes right after my charity muggers joke) that actually helped me...

Last week I had my second set at Absolute Comedy. I was supposed to perform there in the summer, but filming for Bloodletting and Miraculous Cures meant that I had to cancel. I was really pleased with how it went – see what you...

Hooray! This Wednesday I will be performing at Absolute Comedy at Yonge and Eglinton in Toronto. Absolute Comedy is one of my favourite venues in town. I performed there back in April and was supposed to go on again in August but filming for Bloodletting and Miraculous Cures got in the way! I’m delighted to be playing there again this week – hope you can come out and see me. It’s a cheap night out (only $6) in a gorgeous venue with table service, great food and excellent...

<- Thanks to Karina Perez for this lovely photo of me taken at West End Girls. This week marked my one-year anniversary of doing stand-up. What a year! Starting with my first ever performance at the Black Swan I had a horrible bomb at the Diesel Playhouse (I recently got the CD recording from XM Radio and although the performance isn’t terrible I can hear where they put in canned laughter), helped raise almost $7,500 for Gilda’s Club, came third in the Toronto Comedy Brawl...

Er…..this is becoming a bit of a habit recently. Just to let you know I won’t now be appearing at Absolute Comedy tonight. But there’s a really good reason! I’m now going to be in at least three episodes of “Bloodletting and Miraculous Cures” and I have a lot of filming to fit in between rehearsals for “Toronto Noir”. I’m so happy – I’m really enjoying everything I’m doing right...

Just a quick note to let everyone know that I won’t be appearing at Einstein’s tonight – I have a 6.15am call for “Bloodletting and Miraculous Cures” which means I have to get up at around 4.30am, so a gig in a pub didn’t seem like a good idea…….however, I will still be appearing at Absolute Comedy and Fire as planned. As you...

As if my life wasn’t fabulous enough already, here are the details of my stand-up gigs next week: On Wednesday night I will be appearing at Absolute Comedy for the second time. You have to absolutely kill there three times before they’ll consider hiring you, so this gig is really important. If you can make it for a $6 night of unbelievable fun then please do come along and support me. You won’t regret it….. 8.30pm – new talent night at Absolute Comedy, Yonge and...
