I am a British-born actress currently living and working in Toronto. I do mainly voice-work for commercials and, recently, cartoons. My first professional job out of drama school was for BBC Radio 4 and voice-work has remained a passion for me.
In England I worked mainly in the theatre, but before I emigrated I started working on sketch comedy with a group called Badly Packed Kebab. I write a great deal now I’m in Toronto (encouraged by my husband, who had a New York Times bestseller a couple of years ago) – some stand-up, some sketch comedy and a novel.
If you want to see the kind of work that I’ve done, you can look at my resume and check out video and voice clips and pictures.
I started blogging because I’ve often been asked about what it’s like to be an actor (a real actor who’s usually fairly near the breadline and waiting tables to pay for courses while waiting for his or her “break”) and what the business is really like. There aren’t many places where you can read that stuff so I thought I might be able to provide that.
