A blast from the past….
Facebook is a wonderful thing. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but for those of us who have emigrated or who have friends and family scattered across the world it is a wonderful tool for staying in touch and reconnecting. Drama school feels like a long way in the past – it’s been fifteen years since I graduated from the Bristol Old Vic and I have many fond memories of my time there. So I was delighted when I found my old musical theatre teacher, Neil Rhoden,...

I am absolutely thrilled to announce that I am going back to the Grand Theatre London for their 2011 production of Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure. Directed by Marcia Kash the play is written by Steven Dietz and is an amalgamation of two Arthur Conan Doyle stories: A Scandal in Bohemia and The Final Problem. I am playing the part of Madge – a scam artist and member of Holmes’ arch enemy Moriarty’s gang. I get to pretend to be a French maid and everything! Very exciting. I...

Me and my fellow co-director of the children’s program at Klezkamp Sarah Gordon. Hooray for 2010! I just got back from my yearly sojourn to upstate New York where I spend five days in a kosher hotel on Christmas week herding children. Well, it’s a bit more than that. I write a play with my husband that the kids from 5 to 11 perform at the end of the week. We rehearse it for one period out of four. The rest of the time is herding children. Thanks so much to Sarah Gordon, my partner...

Happy holidays, everyone! We’re a multi-faith family. We have a menorah and a four-foot animatronic Santa Claus. We use our advent calendars to count down the days ’til we go to Klezkamp, a Yiddish cultural festival in upstate New York. I make mince pies and latkes. We have Chanukah gelt and Christmas stockings. Here’s a foolish video I made online to celebrate the holidays – starring the Wex family. Enjoy! Send your own ElfYourself...

Gosh – sorry this is so late – Canadian Thanksgiving kind of got in the way….. Tomorrow night (Wednesday) I’m at the Comedy Hole competing in So You Think You Can Rant. Each comic gets a topic pulled from a hat and has to rant about it on the spot for a whole three minutes. No preparation – just ranting. I’m really looking forward to it. 8pm at the Comedy Hole – So You Think You Can Rant at the Crown and Tiger Pub, 414 College Street West at Bathurst,...

Today Farfl and I ran for the cure. Well, strolled. Well, I had to carry Farfl a lot of the way because there were thousands and thousands of people. In the end I raised $1,001 for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Thank you so much to everyone who sponsored me. And thanks to the other comics that ran or walked today as part of our team – dubbed the “Hungover Stumble for the Cure” we raised over $4,000. And we had a lot of fun doing...

Read MoreDo you need a website?
Not to toot my own horn or nothing, but I thought you should know……. I’ve been putting up websites for the last five years – mostly my own projects, but also for other people. Enough friends and colleagues have told me that I should go into business helping people. So here I am. Going into business. Helping people build websites. The service was started for actors, musicians, comics and writers who want a website but can’t afford thousands of dollars and also...
