How fitting that I’m celebrating my second anniversary of doing stand-up by hosting the West End Girls’ first anniversary show!
It’s been a wonderful two years – I’ve competed in five stand-up competitions, been in the finals and the semi-finals of the Toronto Comedy Brawl in 2009 and 2010 respectively, I’ve done two charity gigs for Gilda’s Club that have raised nearly $20,000, I raised over $1,000 single-handed for Canadian Breast Cancer in the Run for the Cure last year, have performed across Toronto and have been invited to my first comedy festival – phew! What a fabulous rollercoaster of a ride!
And to celebrate I’m hosting at one of my favourite rooms in the city – West End Girls at Poor John’s Cafe. I know it’s Rosh Hashannah and the opening night of TIFF, but surely you’d rather be entertained by a bunch of sassy ladies (and token boy Jeff Elliott) whilst drinking a creamy beaver (the comedy night’s signature cocktail) and eating delicious cake? Sure you would. Here are the details:
- Thursday 9th September at 8pm at Poor John’s Cafe, 1610 Queen Street West (west of Sorauren)
Here’s the fabulous line-up:
