I am absolutely thrilled to tell you that I will be appearing in the Grand Theatre’s 2010 production of Pride and Prejudice in London, Ontario.
I auditioned for the part of Charlotte with the Artistic Director Susan Ferley last week. I’d re-read the novel which I studied when I was sixteen and remembered how cross Charlotte made me when I was a hormone-riddled teenager. She’s Elizabeth’s best friend and extremely pragmatic – she marries the pompous vicar Mr. Collins to save herself from impoverished old-maidhood. She marries for security and not for love.
I had a ball in the audition and when my agent called me a couple of days ago to say that I’d got the part I was over the moon. I can’t wait to be back in the rehearsal room in February.
Previews begin on March 10th, the opening night is March 19th and the show runs until April 4th. I hope you’ll be able to come and see it.

It’s funny you should mention that – we talked about it in the audition! I haven’t read it yet, but may ask for it as a highly appropriate Christmas present. x
