Me and Rupert Graves in a scene from “The Good Times Are Killing Me”. Picture by Christos Kalohoridis of Shaftesbury Films.
It’s here! It’s here! It’s finally here! A year after we shot the movie starring Kelly Rowan and Rupert Graves, “The Good Times Are Killing Me” airs on CTV – Sunday 13th September at 8pm.
I’m so excited! Although I saw an (almost) final edit in England back in February when my husband and I visited Cris Cole, the writer, I can’t wait to see it on my own tv in my own home with my friends.
The film is produced by Shaftesbury Films for whom I’ve worked three times in the last couple of years – on “Murdoch Mysteries”, “Good Times” and most recently “Bloodletting and Miraculous Cures”.
Here’s the storyline of “Good Times” according to Shaftesbury Films:
Canadian lawyer, ‘Kate Derby’ (Kelly Rowan, The O.C., In God’s Country) is derailed from pursuing a controversial court case that could trigger a political scandal when she finds herself a reluctant patient at a British alcohol rehab facility. As she struggles to convince those around her of the apparent conspiracy and win her life back, Kate pieces together her murky past, revealing the desperate truth about what really brought her there. The Good Times Are Killing Me also stars British actor Rupert Graves (V for Vendetta, A Room with a View) as ‘Lexy’, a wealthy high-flying investment banker who lost it all on booze and the one person Kate can trust to help her escape Mayhill and Vincent Walsh (Instant Star, ReGenesis) as ‘Shane’ the group therapist at Mayhill.
If you’re in Canada tune in on Sunday 13th September at 8pm on CTV to see me dressed and made-up to look like a pikey crack whore. Hurrah!
