NOW Magazine’s SummerWorks wrap-up

marilla_wex_mickey_rodriguez_toronto_noirMe in my Karen costume and Mickey Rodriguez, our amazing on-stage DJ in “Toronto Noir”.

As a lovely post-script to the SummerWorks festival NOW Magazine listed “Toronto Noir” in the following catagories in their “best of the fest”: outstanding ensembles, outstanding direction and outstanding design. Needless to say both cast and crew are chuffed to bits (that’s English English for “really quite pleased”).

I sincerely hope that this means that “Toronto Noir” has legs beyond the SummerWorks festival. Given the limited budget and time constrictions we had for rehearsals (owing to actors and crew having to work at other things to be able to afford to contribute to the project) the possibilities for a fully-formed production are exciting.

Here’s NOW Magazine’s full round-up of the festival: NOW Magazine // Stage // SummerWorks wrap-up
