This week marks the first anniversary of me doing stand-up.
Yes, it was a year ago when I had my stand-up debut at the Black Swan Tavern following the completion of Dawn Whitwell‘s stand-up course. How appropriate then that I am involved in starting a new comedy room at Poor John’s Cafe in Toronto’s West End with some fellow graduates of Dawn’s class.
The StandUp Sisters are launching a new monthly all-girl comedy night called West End Girls which debut’s this Thursday at 1610 Queen West (near Sorauren). Featuring original StandUp Sisters Marjorie Malpass, Heidi Mole, Becky Bays, Laura Salvas, Muniza Rauf, Shelley Kidwell and Daniela Saioni, the first show this Thursday will also include other fabulous female comedians including Rhiannon Archer, Megan Fraser and Julia Hladkowicz. I will be hosting West End girls in October – can’t wait!
- 8pm at Poor John’s Cafe, 1610 Queen Street West (near Sorauren) – pay what you can!
Then on Sunday CTV airs “The Good Times Are Killing Me” for the first time. Although I saw the movie back in February, apparently the edit didn’t include the correct music, so I’ll be seeing the final edit for the first time along with everyone else!
