Kim Moritsugu comes to see Toronto Noir

Posted by on Aug 9, 2009 in Blog, Theatre | 0 comments

We were lucky enough to have the writer of one of the short stories which make up “Toronto Noir” at rehearsals. Then she came to see the show!

Kim Moritsugu is the writer of  “A Taste of Honey” which is the part of “Toronto Noir” which I’m in. Set in St. Lawrence Market, it tells the story of Jen, an embittered actress who is confronted with the shortcomings of her career when she bumps into a younger acquaintance who is in the middle of her “big break”. I play Jen’s boss, the starstruck Karen, who is incredibly sincere yet still manages to make Jen’s flesh crawl.

Kim has a food blog called The Hungry Novelist where she has written about  her impressions of the show. Check it out! (Spoiler alert: she likes it.)
