Holy cow – I’m in a movie!
Aug 01

Blimey charlie – it’s true! I landed a part in a movie of the week with Kelly Rowan – Kirsten Cohen from the OC! (My thirteen-year-old step-daughter will no doubt want an autograph.) I auditioned for it a few weeks ago and, to be honest, didn’t think it was going to come off, but today I got the call from my agent. I’m absolutely chuffed to bits.
My role is a dreamy treat – a Brummie pikey! Finally I get to play my own accent. Jane is a hopeless alcoholic whose kids have been taken away and who’s always looking for stuff to pilfer. I loved it when I read the script and I’m beside myself that I actually got it.
And now I’m going out to celebrate with my friend Inge – artists’ salon organizer and glamour-puss extraordinaire. (Wex is in Pennsylvania – boo!) Until next time, movie fans.

Congrats super-star!
I think.
Unless playing a “Brummie pikey” means that you’re playing the role of a fish. Then I’m not so sure.
If you really want to know what a pikey is, you’d better watch “Snatch”. There you have the Irish breed of pikey as portrayed by Brad Pitt. The type I’m playing probably does a lot of scratch cards and called her kids Letisha and Kevin. Not that I’m adhering to cultural stereotypes, you understand.
Oh my god, can’t believe you get to work with Kelly Rowan. AMAZING! I would kill to meet her!!!! Definitely my idol!
Take great advantage of knowing her!!!
Good luck with everything!!!
