About Me I do lots of voice work (for commercials, cartoons and corporate clients) and sometimes, when I'm very lucky, tv and film. When I was in England I did mostly theatre. Now I'm in Canada I spend the majority of the time writing and performing stand-up. When I'm not making episodes of Talking Bollocks, that is. And that's me for you.

Hi everyone – it’s been a couple of weeks. Sorry for the lack of posts – I’ve been getting ready for my sojourn in London for “Pride and Prejudice”.

I have a couple of corking gigs lines up this week as a great send-off. First up on Wednesday is one of my favourite rooms in all Toronto – Spirits hosted by the one and only Jo-Anna Downey. Can’t wait can’t wait can’t wait!

  • 9pm at Spirits, 682 Church Street at Bloor, Toronto
  • Then on Thursday I’m off to do my favourite all-girl monthly gig in Parkdale – West End Girls! Run by Daniela Saioni of The StandUp Sisters fame, this room is a dreamy treat – great audiences, great comics, great beer and a great night out. You should, like, totally come.

  • 8pm at West End Girls – Valentine’s edition, Poor John’s Cafe, 1610 Queen West (near Sorauren), Toronto
  • The “C” Word is a smash hit

We did it – we raised even more money for Gilda’s Club this year!

The room was packed….the atmosphere was electric….and the comics didn’t disappoint. (more…)

    Farmville backlash

Farmville-ennui is definitely in the Zeitgeist right now…….

I guess you get more of what you focus on, but it’s funny that having written my post-Holidays set (which includes a piece of Farmville) I found this today on YouTube:

    West End Girls this Thursday

Oh yes! Now that Farfl’s advanced training is over I can go back to doing my favourite monthly gig – West End Girls!

This is an all-girl stand-up gig with one token guy – this month it’s one of my favourite comics Bob Kerr. The line-up is terrific with top pros Martha O’Neill and Allyson Smith. Can’t wait can’t wait can’t wait!

Here’s the link to the Facebook event for this gig. Poor John’s Cafe has terrific beer on tap, delicious cakes and coffee and the West End Girls’ signature cocktail the Creamy Beaver. Hope you can make it!

Bloodletting and Miraculous Cures starts Sunday!

This Sunday 10th January Bloodletting and Miraculous Cures premieres on HBO Canada at 8pm.

I was lucky enough to be able to watch the first episode on the Air Canada flight I came home from New York on before new year – it rocks! And I’m not just saying that ‘cos I’m in it…..

The pace is fast, the dialogue is fabulous and the acting is very strong. I highly recommend that you tune in. (And, for the record, I’m in episodes 1 and 3.) Go to the Bloodletting and Miraculous Cures website for interviews with the stars and the producer. And below is the trailer which I’m in very briefly!
